OUR VALUES

VEGAN & CRUELTY-FREE
You will not find any animal ingredients in our snacks. My Raw Joy was founded by two vegans and is and will always be 100% plant based and cruelty free.

ZERO WASTE & RECYCLABLE PACKAGING
We care about our the environment, so our snacks are produced in a zero waste kitchen and sent to you in recyclable packaging.

ORGANIC & NUTRITIOUS
Our snacks are certified organic. You won't find cane sugar, preservants, gluten or any industrial ingredients in them. To preserve the nutritional qualities of the superfood cacao and the mineral-rich coconut palm sugar our products are never processed above 42°C.

HANDMADE
Our snacks are 100% handmade (eg. truffles) or partially handmade (eg. chocolate bars) in a non-industrial environment. The only machines we use in our production process are mixers for mixing the chocolate and oven for drying the cookies (always below 42°C)

FAIR TRADE PRODUCTION
We buy our ingredients from small local farms. For example our cacao comes from fair trade farms in the Dominican Republic, Peru, Panama and Madagascar. Our entire production chain is free from child labour.

GIVING BACK
We cooperate with the nonprofit organisation One Tree Planted.
Each product sold contributes to trees being planted in Latin America.

Humble beginnings...
Sanja's story
My Raw Joy started out as a big dream in a city kitchen, right in the heart of one of Europe’s most enchanting cities. The dream was simple: to make my favourite foods healthier and tastier than ever and to share them with others.
Though I grew up in Germany, my roots lie in South-Eastern Europe’s Balkan region, and from a young age I was surrounded by a culture where food was considered a nurturing experience and an art form bringing people together.
Life then took me all over Europe, the United States, UK and South America, and I eventually made my base in magical Prague. Throughout my journeys, I always explored how small gestures of sharing can connect and enrich us.


RAW FOODS
I first discovered raw foods when I witnessed how they helped two family members make an incredible health recovery.
This jolted me awake.
Though I was in good health, I was suffering from the imbalance between my hectic corporate work-life and wanting to keep up a healthy lifestyle.
I started searching for ways to improve the balance, starting at the very foundations of my day-to-day life.
An intensive research phase started where I discovered the benefits of plant-based foods and superfoods, and in particular raw cacao, leading me to create my very first raw chocolates in my kitchen.
The more I learned, the more passionate I became. I learned that the key to making raw foods is to produce them at low temperatures with minimally processed ingredients. This ensures that the potent enzymes and micronutrients are retained, which is what makes raw foods so healthy and chock-full of energy. I traveled the world in search of the best raw food products and production processes. Yet wherever I went, I always came back to the same question: why weren’t more people making snacks that tasted good and retained their natural nutritious qualities? Always one to take initiative, I decided not to sit around and wait for something to happen. Instead, I took the plunge and started my own business!


The birth of MY RAW JOY
After months of experimentation with different raw chocolates and dehydrated snacks, I began testing them on my friends and family. Especially my little niece was my number one tester. If she liked my products, then I knew they were good – she would never bend the truth just to please us and with her we simply knew if our snack ideas were a hit or miss! I soon proved that my raw vegan chocolates were just as delicious as traditional artisan products. In fact, they often eclipsed them. They could give people the experience of eating high-quality chocolates, but prepared without refined sugar, dairy products or unnecessary additives. In time, our team grew, and we started expanding the line with salty treats to complement the sweet products. Starting small, I sold the products at farmer’s markets around the city and shared my delicious snacks with people I met on my travels. Soon, the snacks gained a steady following of fans who couldn’t live without My Raw Joy.
Today, I have developed it into a full-fledged business with a passionate and dedicated team. Together, we sell our products to happy customers around the world.
