Why then, are chocolate products often referred to as ‘junk food’?
The truth behind this is that milk chocolate that we often find in supermarkets does not truly represent the qualities of real raw chocolate.
It is produced as cheaply as possible, packed with sugar, milk, palm fat and all sorts of unnecessary and often harmful ingredients. These chocolate bars contain only enough cacao for it to be legally classed as chocolate.
No wonder chocolate has a bad reputation!
The trick is to not mistake products made with quality raw cacao with the mainstream highly processed "chocolate" junk-food.
